Death…….wing approaches…

In efforts to Continue keeping players on thier toes after the release of Arthas in the Icecrown Citadel raid, Blizzard has announced that thier were some wierd things going on with the patch notes for the upcoming content patch, 3.3.5.
In this blue post over on the Blizzard General Discussion Forums, Zarhym kindly fills in some blank spots in the upcoming content. Apparently the Black dragonflight is no group of happy campers with the Wyrmrest Accord. During the testing of patch 3.3.3, some notes leaked over from 3.3.5 Concerning the Ruby Sanctum, another branch of the Sanctum’s underneath the Wrymrest Temple in Dragonblight. The Ruby Sanctum, as it is aptly named, pitts heroes against a powerful war party of the Black Dragonflight, led by the fearsome Twilight dragon, Halion. These members of the flight have launched an assault upon the Ruby Sanctum. By destroying the sanctum, the Black Dragonflight looks to crush those that would stand in the way of their master’s reemergence into Azeroth and to ultimately shatter the Wyrmrest Accord, the sacred bond that unites all of the dragonflights.
The battle that is to come will surely deal a crippling blow to the Red Dragonflight, however, it is up to you to stop this unprecedented offensive and defend the Ruby Sanctum. First you must face the assault of Halion’s servants, Saviana Ragefire, Baltharus the Warborn, and General Zarithrian, before squaring off against Halion the Twilight Destroyer, a new and deadly force in this realm. The Ruby Sanctum will feature 10- and 25-player content, Heroic difficulties and all-new rewards! Stay tuned for more information as we get closer to its release.
Ok, so I’ll be honest, I linked it then completly stole the exact info and slightly reworded it a bit. I do that because now comes for the Classic Derfel break down and thoughts.
Ever since the launch of Wrath, we’ve had the very interesting raid, Obsidian Sanctum. Fighting off the black dragonflight Egg Guardian, Sartharion, along with his subsiquint addition of equally P.I.T.A. drakes, proved to be quite the test for raiders, for a time. We have also had the Vault of Archavon since Wrath Launched. Both of thier Raids showed high amounts of potential, each lending a certain level of raid encounters to the lack luster of Naxxramas. However, as we were subsiquintly given Ulduar to play with and Trial of the Crusader to romp around in, Bosses were added to Vault, continuing to change the raid zone itself, adding wings to accomidate the new bosses. However, the extra portals surrounding the base of the Wyrmrest temple have remained as they were, sealed off by the Wyrmrest Defenders. Why no more extra drakes? Why are we constantly squaring off with the black dragonflight and it’s errenous ways? What’s with all of the angry dragons?
All very good questions. I do not believe Blizzard initally intended the Sanctums to be like VoA, just adding in the new, mixxed with the old, to generate new content. It’s plausible, but we all know Blizzard is as predictable as a tornado. Plus, i think they like the thrill of making us wait until we wet ourselves to let loose information. The Black Dragonflight has been against dragons working and Co-operating with the mortal races since, well, as far back as I can remember. Deathwing had been “defeated” before, and most thought gone forever. For a touch of Lore, Ronin discovered that Deathwiong was still alive, and he had also managed to save the Red Dragonflights Queen, Alexstrasza, the Life-Binder. Originally know as Neltharion, Deathwing had managed to convice the other Dragon Aspects to impart a small piece of thier powers unto him via the Dragon Soul, latter known as the Demon Soul. Rhonin managed to destroy the soul and release the piece of the dragon aspects that inhabitted it. And Deathwing retreated Deep beneath Grim Batol, biding his time. As for the angry dragons, when Rhonin saved Alexstrasza, she swore that none of her flight would harm any Humans. The leads to the Wyrmrest Accord and helping the mages of Dalaran (whom Rhonin now leads) in thier war with Malygos.
Malygos, having been driven mad by his battle with Deathwing, finally begain regaining his sanity. Upon reaching strange and obscured conclusions, he felt that he would never again allow those of non-draconic origins to partake upon his realm, the realm of Arcane and magic. This is what begins drawing out the conflicts between the dragon aspects. Ysera, the keeper of the Emerald Dream, is still doing battle wit the emerald nightmare alongside Cenarion and Malfurion Stormrage, and has stirctly banned anyone not of the Green Dragonflight from seeking her counsel. Nozdormu spends his time policing the time streams and ensuring as best he can thier constant safety and ensuring that events of the past remain, untamperd with. This type of conflict amongst the Keepers of Azeroth is the perfect breeding ground for Deathwings ultimate return to the scene….
So, yes, i kinda put a Lore spin on a news article. Sorry about that. But it helps to show the break down between the Dragon Aspects
